The USA sucks sometimes...but it's the idiots that make it that way.

Hell, Dan...you know some of the hack-jobs that are rilling around in Japan with over 500hp that couldn't survive an impact with a wet paper bag!

eh.... emissions in california - i can see that.... same with in NYC, but not everythywhere else. anyways, seems like the way this countrey is now being run, is that the minority is in favor, and the majority just has to suck it up.

the deal is that we have tons of laws, BUT lots of those do not get enfourced!

almost everybody out here has aftermarket exhaust and other things, but the cops don't bother with it unless you are being stupid. when i got a ticket in june the officer could have very easily got me on my tint and now mud flaps, but since i was nice he didn't bother me. one cop tried to get my friend for how high his exhaust was off the ground, i don't know how that law works but his was ok

wait until you see what the EPA cooked up for street bikes...

No mods except cosmetic (i.e. paint)
Any mod makes it a "custom" and you can only ride customs to a custom show.

No Mods, Ever - 2006+

no rollpans in cali?

EDIT:

liked this one;

"Incorrect color of turn signal. It must be white or yellow to the front, red or yellow to the rear (24953 VC). "

so my white turn signals up front arent illegal. one less thing to worry about :o)

Do your tires stick out beyond the fender? How far? I'v read this one, as long as the tires are less than 1" (or is it 2) out side the fender you are legal.. no mater what the size or if the truck came with them.

Cool deal on the white blinkers.. I'v had them for years, never knew they were legal though.. lol..

There are so many things on my truck I could get fix-it tickets for its stupid..

You could argue roll pans are legal. The law states that a bumper is any device that prevents another vehicle form contacting the chassis of your vehicle.. (or some crap like that, I could look it up if anybody cares).. so you could make the case that a roll pan will do that.

Even though there are some wierd vehicle codes here, its not nearly as bad as being in stated that have "inspections". Most cops wont even think about giving you a fix it ticket for anything unless you draw the attention to your self by breaking some other law, unlike other states where if your wipers are bad you cant register your car.. thats bull..

Yea some of those laws are dumb. I wish I could find a list like that for AK so I could see exactly what is legal. I know we're not as strict on emissions and probably other stuff. I didn't know white turn signals were legal in the fron in cali, I guess they're probably legal up here, good to know.

yeah my sister's bf has a gen1 L....that thing is louder then any other car ive ever heard on the street. Dual flow 40's, offroad x-pipe, gutted one CAT, list goes on. He was next to me one time with my windows down, when he floored it my ears rang for a good minute. Ask larson....he did the same thing to him once, it hurts! But yeah cops have never given him a ticket for noise. They might have mentioned to him that his exhaust was a little too loud but never any write-ups for it. He also has a rollpan.

Cops really don't care unless you're doing something stupid - At least from my experience.

but what is illegal is the fact that you do not have a yellow(maybe a red would work) reflector at your front corners of the truck. your stock corner markers had the amber reflector, but with your clear corners you do not have this anymore. if they want they can bust you for it, i have clear corners also, at i understand the risk
