I got the carpet kit from the same guy who sold me the shell (again, from craigslist) then bought a full size memory foam mattress pad, its really comfy back there. And if it gets cold while camping, I put in a dual battery that i can isolate from the charging system and run a power inverter which lets me run my electric blanket all nite. Oh yea, i also removed the rear window so now its a climb through if i need to. Its nice having a shell, when we go camping all i have to do is lift my hatch and im ready, no tents or airmattress' or nothin.

have any info or tips on how you made your bed back there?

Damn that was such a long time ago. I couldn't tell you who made it, but I picked it up off craigslist for $75.

I just bought a 2004 Ranger that had a utility shell on it and I sold it for $325.
I just didn't like the look. It just wasn't me.
It also limited my "back up" vision which I also didn't like.
Now, though, I need to find a tailgate and all the fixin's to install it.

That's going to be a pain in the ... .

Looks great, pic too not so bad. I have a stepside/flareside too and curious which one is this you have? Hard to tell with angle but looks like it has the flared transition at the back of the cab. Thanks.

No one would happen to know the part number or company that produces this cap? Going to start hunting.

There are also a number of companies that make commercial

type caps with rear doors. May not be as "custom" a look, but may be something to look at.

I bought this truck 3 years ago, it’s a 1999. The camper shell is about to get repainted, along with the hood and the roof. The shell must have been installed shortly after the truck was purchased, as the install date is marked as 4/4/99. The center of the bed can be removed, and the sides flip up with storage underneath. Everything still looks great, truck has 218,000 miles on it.
