I borrowed an NGS+ dealer tool and changed the hexadecimal feature code from the Ranger value to the Sport Trac value in the CSM. I did that to make the CSM compatible with my entry keypad.

I would wire in the autolocks but it is intended for an automatic trans. It uses the reverse light wire to trigger the door locks. On my manual, I don't necessarily go through reverse every time I drive the vehicle like you would with an automatic.

 

..so is that something i'd be capable of doing myself?

yeah i wanna know about flashing the CSM or getting a sport trac one. there are so many mods I want to do but the ones involving wiring Im afraid to try since most of them are done on pre 04 trucks and the OHC gave me enough problems.

 

You won't be able to flash it unless you find a very knowledgeable dealer tech. And you don't really need Sport Trac spec for anything anyway. I figured out how to flash my CSM to make it recognize the hard wired keypad that was already cut in my door. There's no need to do that when you can walk into any Ford dealer and buy a self adhesive wireless keypad that works directly with your factory Ranger CSM.
