Can't find the turbo encapulator.

I was on here the other day and someone had similar brake problems that I was having.

The guy was told to find his turbo encapulator ,and adjust it accordingly.

Well I can't find it. I have looked under my seats, behind the steering wheel and underneath the air intake like I was told to do.

I'm getting real annoyed so could someone please tell me brake turbo encapulator is, and how I go about adjusting it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and btw I have a 2wd 3.0 if that matters. 2004.

lol I don't think you have a brake turbo encapulator. That was only on 02 and before rangers. What's wrong with your brakes though?

Your owners manual should tell you where the turbo encapulator is. I know they moved them in the 04+ trucks.

To adjust it, grab one end firmly and twist clockwise, once you hear the click it has been adjusted 1 degree. Continue to twist until you see a light flash on your dash, then you're good to go.

Hope this helps

My 03 has one but it takes a 120 degree spanner wrench to adjust it , which I can't find anywhere.Mine's mounted under the dash.

Haha of course I'm not being serious about this. I just thought it would be a funny way to break the ice on this forum.

Anyways I do have a problem with my brakes. I installed new rotors and pads on my Ranger, they were cheap ones from auto zone. Not sure of the rotor brand but I bought the duralast brake pads, they're pretty bad but hell they come with a lifetime warranty so what the hell just take them back and get news ones.

The problem I have is comes in at about 45-50 mph. If I have to brake with any kind of force at all I get a pretty decent shake that i can feel through the brake pedal and steering wheel. This shake only last for a brief second, but it is pretty rough.

I have checked the suspension, tie rods and ball joints look just fine. Could the rotors be warped already? Should I quit being a such a pu**y and go with a decent set of pads and rotors?

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Again the whole turbo encapulator was a joke. If i was that gullible I would hope somebody would direct me off this site into oncoming traffic.

lol goodone karr...So i will check those things here in a bit.

But i have ran into another problem. Took my air filter out to see what it was like it looked great so i put it back in and put the sensor back in to its place, It's the mass airflow sensor i believe. I went to start the truck and for some reason it's idling at about 1100 rpm instead of 700 like usual.

What the hell did i do?

Alright thanks. Yeah it did drop back down to about 700 I was just worried that I had damaged the sensor or something.

Just trying to learn my way around a bit.

Chances are you either have a defective rotor, you could have a little tiny piece of rust behind where the rotor seats on the hub surface, or you could have warped the rotor by over-tightening the wheel nuts.

Is this vibration in the wheel or more in the seat?
