if the pipe is just cracked, why would it make a rattle? I would think it would sound like an exhaust leak.

I had a crack near my converter just last weekend. A buddy of mine welded it back up and it was fine.

Can't tell you why just made it sound like the inside of the converter had come loose and was rattleing on decell. But pipe is cracked big time I will try to weld it back first then go from there. Anyone replace there cats with aftermarket converter?
