Cherrybomb. Ugh.

So when I bought my truck it had a cherrybomb on it and it didn't sound so bad when it was cold out and i had the windows up all the time. Now it's warm out and it's driving me nuts when the windows are open. Sounds like a little ricer with a fart pipe on it. Is there any reason for me not to get this thing off and put a normal muffler on? Am I get any mpg or power benefits from it? I really hate the sound it makes....

The cherry bomb has less restriction than a stock muffler so their could be some performance/mpg difference but I doubt much. What motor do you have in your truck?

Go ahead and swap on a different muffler that you like. Either a stock muffler or a nice aftermarkey. Search around the forums their are lots of guys with the 2.3 that have aftermarkey mufflers on their trucks. You can find video clips of them to listen and make up your own mind on how they sound.

its just time for another cherry bomb. The damn things blow out the baffling so quick. You arent getting any performance gains at all from it. Its just a sound enhancer. I say put on a stocker and call it a day if you dont want the sound if you do then a decent aftermarket will do the trick.

The only way the truck will sound good is with another 2-6 cylinders and a better muffler.
If I had a 4 cylinder ranger I would want it to be quiet.
