Every car has a problem just some have it more than others
Only a total n00b will slam the brakes on a blow out. You want to decelerate slowly and avoid nervous moves.

Just another GM owner man. I have come to find out that GM owners will talk more crap about Ford then a Ford owner will do about a GM. My mom has had nothing but GM and my dad Ford. My dad NEVER had trouble with his rangers but my mom had problems with EVERY single one of her GM cars. Lol. Just let him talk his crap and pay no mind to him. Next time he does it just give him a shrug of the shoulders and leave it be. Can't change a stupid person's mentality as bad as you might want to lol.

What can I do or explain to make him shut his *** up?!?!
Or at least what can I say when hes talking **** in front of a whole bunch of people saying how i have a ****ty ford ford *** ford blows bla bla bla...
Your buddy sounds really inmature you really shouldnt let him bother you. But I see why your hear looking for argument ammo. Ive owned several Gm's and everyone dissapointed. My brother in law had an 1984 RAnger he said it was the best truck he ever had. Then he bought a new 1998 S 10 the paint started chipping off, it rotted out, and broke down constantly. He had it less then 10 years before giving it away. Needless to say he went back to Rangers and is satisfied once again.

My family is a GM family.

But I drive a ranger just because I despise the s-10's.

Ford cars suck. Chevy cars are ok, and if not already posted, the GTO was not made by pontiac. It was made by an Australian company.

GM=Ford IMO

VW>All.

I had to bring this back up just to tell you guys, my roomate pissed me off to the point where I couldnt control my anger, talking so much **** about FORD, we were outside and I got in my truck to leave, kept talking ****, I was like say one more thing "found on road dead ***** ford" Well he had his toyota tercel in the parking lot. I happened to have the drop down ball on my hitch. I backed right up into his tercel, left a big white scratch / mark on his rear bumper. HAH! hasn't said anything since.

People who think one car manufacturer is better then others in all aspects is mis-informed. Every manufacturer has its positives and negatives.

Thats what I try to tell him, that I have no problem with chevy or anything else, I just happen to have a ford. The kid has a giant sign when you first walk in our apartment on the wall "Reserved parking for my chevy truck"

ive grown up a ford guy. thats all my father has owned besides his vintage 442 cutlasses. he works on cars daily so i figured he knows best. all ive owned was fords untill i bought a 2001 blazer for my wife, got a good deal on it. i figured, hell the GM's cant be too bad. man was i wrong, ive had more issues with this 2001 blazer than i ever have with any of my rangers. its the biggest pos money pit ive ever had. its on its second set of front wheel bearings, needs ball joints, has a bad radiator, abs light comes on all the time, airbag light is on most of the time, it randomly wont start, tranny shifts like a peice, it rattles, squeeks and bangs horribly. the interior is teriibly cheap and lame. ive learned my lesson. i know every company has issues, but this ones got more than im willing to put up with and risk having to deal with again. as soon as i can unload it im getting her a ford

And that proved what? That your compensating as much as him? Not the most mature way to handle it. If that was my car I would have called in a hit and run and your plates. But if it shut him up... whatever I guess

Don't forget to add that the handle to recline the seats always brake off on S-10's and Blazers! I owned a S-10 and that happened and everyone that I looked at when I bought mine was broke. I had to use vice grips to recline my seat.

I was brought up a Chevy guy but it seems more and more I always buy Fords. Especially Rangers as I am on number 3. Every company has it's faults. Ford had the Escorts, Chevy had the Citations(Escorts was still better IMO). None is better than the other. Any car can brake down at any time. My father in-law is always getting on me about how junky Fords are and they brake down all the time. It's funny cause he has a Chevy 3500 4x4 dually with a 454 and his creek flooded wasing his bridge out. After the water went down he went through the creek to get to his house and got stuck and broke his CV's and u-joints. I went through it the same day with my non lifted Ranger and I trucked through it just fine.

People that hate all vehicles just because of the brand are idiots. Unless its like Kia or Hyundai. But Ford has alot of vehicles that suck and GM has alot of vehicles that suck.

My lil bro is the same way. He likes chevy's, because he wants to be a redneck so bad. He has no reason, other than what other people tell him. he is always dissin on transmissions, engine size etc. I dont really care or let it get to me cause i have an 03 ranger, that is nice with all the bells and whistles, and he would have my truck in a heartbeat. He has an 83 checvy c20. Hard to compare, even though his would kill me in a truck pull, that doesnt matter. I didnt buy my truck for that.

Also noone can argue that ford rangers and F150s are the best selling pickups ever. So you have millions on your side.

In the end, I just think chevys are ugly. I dont feel at home in one. I am an architect, so aesthetics mean a ton to me. Fords just have better designs imo.

In the end it doesnt matter whta anyone else thinks, I paid for my truck with my money, and I wouldnt have anyone elses truck over mine. I didnt buy my truck to make anyone else happy.

I figure if it looks nice then I'd drive it. I like the new Silverados more the new F150 and I don't think the Colorados look bad.

Correct. The new GTO abomination is actually a Holden Comodore. Holden is a GM subsidiary down under.

I can't knock GM. My ole '87 Sunbird was one tough POS. Could not kill that car and I tried mightily.

Regardless though, don't lower yourself to this other nitwits standards. I've seen plenty of sweet Chevy pickups and I've seen plenty of rust buckets. Anyone who buys on name alone is a fool.

Holden Monaro. The Comodore is a G8.

I stand corrected. I thought it was the same car they raced in the Aussie V8's but it is indeed a Monaro.

Eh. Import fees and crap. Its not worth it. Also I those have the gas tanks mounted under the car. The problem with that, well at least in the GTO/Monaro, is that it doesn't meet US crash safety standards so the GTO actually has its gas tank in the truck right behine the rear seats.

Oh I know it's totally not worth it and not even really possible but I still think it'd be sweet to have a right hand drive muscle car... Well, sort of muscle car.
