why double lift?

why do people double lift there trucks? i know a bl just lets u run a bigger tire. a sl is for offraoding. i want my truck to fit like a 33 inch tire on a 17 or 18 inch rim. i want it similar to these trucks.

im confused here... what exactly are you talking about? you are asking why anyone would double lift like its a bad thing... and then you show pics of double lift trucks while saying that you want your truck to look like that...

People double lift to be able to fit larger tires (35+). For 99% of people it is for looks; in their eyes a Ranger on 35" or larger tires looks awesome. Tho that 1% do need 35s or bigger for the offroading they do.

You'll be just as special as the Ford PSDs lifted on 20'' rims on 40'' tires.

Ah you want the look of the lift and 33's, but it will probably never be used to go offroad since you will have some pretty 17's or 18's on the truck.

if u double lift it and slap 33's on it.. ur gunna have ALOT of fender gap, and theres really no reason to double lift with just 33in tires, no matter what size rim u get the diamater (sp) of the tire should still be the same

Rim size has nothing to do with fitting tires. 32" MAX on Stock. You can fit 33" comfortably with a 3" BL and STUFF 35's usually. Get 17" wheels. They look GREAT with 33" tires. Not too big looking at all. One member had them but he totaled his truck and I think they went with it. I haven't seen another. If someone can find it you will get a chub.

Body lifts on a suspension lifted full sized bronco, had problems with major chassis twists because your taking away some of the rigidy, i have no idea if thats the case with rangers, but its worth thinking about. So it kinda comes down to what you wanna use it for....or be ABLE to use it for.

You have two ....maybe three options. you can get a 6 fron 4 back suspension type of lift. should easliy give you room for your tire/rim combo, AND be able to survive articulating suspension, or a body lift.....which is easily a thousand $'s Cheaper, Literally. and you can still fit your tires and put that saved money into .....Pretty....Rims...(Gawd it almost makes me CRINGE saying it.)

Or both. depending on how high you wanna go depends on what you want to do. ive said that befor but in more detail if you do boggin and climbing. or dezert tromping. you could go with a 4 front lift (Usually just brings the front lvl with the back.) and than put 2"blocks. bringing your whole truck up 6 and equal.

Oh, almost forgot. let us know what you choose...pics..

what? hmm k... no body lifts are fine with the frame, ranger frames are made to flex and it doesnt change anything...

and and you reasoning like an old TTB suspention truck a 4" superlift needs more then just level with back... hell for one DONT run block cause you dont have too. and you need more then 2" do some reading on the site you need to learn more about the newer trucks it seems...

like sean said, most people do it for looks, some people do it for function. if your gonna put 33s on dont do a double lift, if you want 35s then do a double lift
