clicking and squeaking every 3 -5 seconds

Icon5 clicking and squeaking every 3 -5 seconds

hello guys, my 02 ranger v6 3.0 was stalling randomly , I installed new fuel and air filters and iac valve but still have random stalls and a clicking noise with a quick squeak . the noise sound is coming from the front .anybody have this problem or knows what the cause is?

Have you checked to see if there are any codes stored in the computer. As for the noise... you need to be more specific. Lots of moving parts in the front of the truck. engine, wheels, axles, etc.

Before starting engine after it has set over night, so COLD ENGINE
Take fan belt off of crank pulley
Start engine
Battery light will stay on, no alternator
See if its still making the noise, if so its the CAM synchronizer at to rear of engine
If no noise then its a pulley on fan belt
Engine bay will be VERY QUIET with no fan so easy to hear a noise

You can ONLY RUN the engine for 2minutes this way with NO water pump, so shut off the engine ASAP

Spin pulleys by hand after shutting off the engine is noise was gone, you WILL find the ones that making a noise
