Converting flareside ranger to styleside to accomodate camper shell
Hey y'all,
So I've been doing research on what would fit my '99 Ranger Flareside and was coming up short. Seems like there aren't a lot of options and I was kinda hoping to get something like a leer hi-rise 122. That option seems to be available for a styleside.
Sooo.. I was recently had the idea of going to a junk yard and finding a styleside bed and swapping them out. Was wondering if that's A: Possible and B: Easy enough to have done?
Are there any parts that I'd have to replace in doing so? Is it worth it?
Really trying to get my truck a camper shell so I can convert it to camp in it.
Appreciate any help on this. Seems to be my only other option before I just have to sell it and get a style side. Only problem is I have an attachment to my truck. I'd prefer that I don't have to sell it.

1993 to 2011 6ft beds are interchangeable same 6 mount holes, I think 2009 beds got 2 extra holes but same 6 still line up
Regular cab and extended cab used same 6ft beds
There were "long bed" rangers, regular cab and 7ft beds, their rear axle was 6" farther back so bed won't fit on the frame of other Rangers
And you need the bed WITH tailgate, just a reminder, lol
I think you will need a new gas tank filler hose, longer
And a 1993-1999 bed would use the same 3 wire tail lights, in 2000 Rangers were converted to the 2 wire model, but I think you can swap in the 3 wire lens's into later models but don't know for sure
Rear bumper will also need to be changed, its narrower on stepside

Hmm okay. So it is possible and seems not incredibly hard then? Just need to find a bed that fits, a need a new bumper, and a gas tank filler hose?
Seems doable.
I want to do the work myself but may just need to take it to a body shop just to make sure the job is done right. I'm assuming the junk yard doesn't do that type of work.
Appreciate the info!
