New to the game
Hey guys. I'm 19 years old and a proud owner of a 2005 Ranger XLT 4x4. I've had the truck for almost a year now and really want it to be a little bit quicker. Unfortunately, I'm running on a budget. any tips on some cheap yet efficient ways to add power?

What engine?
3.0l V6 Vulcan
or
4.0l SOHC V6
And manual or automatic transmission?
Rangers all come with cold air intakes, mid-rpm headers, and best tune for power and MPG
So not much to change

Drunken wisdom here.....im almost 33, and ive driven damn near everything with an engine and tires on it. My 4.0l auto fx4 has all the power i could ever ask for....even with a heavy *** custom fabricated flatbed on it.
Rangers are goverend at ~85 mph, so your not going to get it to a higher top speed. As far as acceleration, even with a heavy steel flatbed, i have no problem spinning the tires through first gear on wet pavement, with brand new bf goodrich all terrains.
Its a truck, not a race car. What it lacks in overall speed, it more than makes up for with things like torque and power. Ive hauled entire trees out of the woods after cutting them down with my little ranger.....think less 454 s-10 SS, and more tractor.
