Well, i had my flow master for a few months dumped right before the rear axle on my 97 2.3 5 spd and its really quiet, just alil louder then stock till i rev her way up then she sounds awesome, so i decided to try a cherry bomb turbo 2 muffler...anyone heard one or know anything about them...heard one on a saturn ion and it sounded real good, not ricey at all but he did have a tail pipe i will probably do side exit or y pipe it to duals, for now it will be dumped as close to the cat as i can get it to make it sound louder...any thoughts on trying it out...heck its 20 bucks at autozone and cheaper then a glass pack

The Turbo 2 actually sounds quite decent. I've had one a 3.0L and it wasn't too loud, and it had no cackle, so I liked it. They are cheap and they will rust out just so you know.

 

it's a 2.3 mang.... you're trying to get something that isn't there. You are going to keep hacking away until you lose significant back pressure and it will all be a waste. Displacement equals sound. Put your money into some other aspect of the truck, because you are not going to make a 4 banger sound beefy.

 

um sorry not trying to be rude but uh...beefy and loud are 2 very different things in my book, and my 1.3 liter rotary engine in my rx7 sounds beefier then must v8s around here...i jus want something with alil more then what i got now...

And on the saturn it sounded good...not ricy or anything which was a shock, but since yall dont recommend it what do yall? i sold my flow cuz the guy had a straight pipe on a 98 2.5 automatic and it sounds like sh#t...sorry but it does and we both good friends so least i can do since i wanting to change mine

 

so did you end up getting it? i was considering throwing one on in the spring just because theyre so cheap and seeing how it sounds and then deciding if i want to go to borla

 

yes i got it...sounded ok jus louder then i wanted...so i traded it for a 40s series dual outlet and i love it...not to loud but sounds like a v8...now if only flowmaster could handle the rotary haha

Can't go wrong with Borla! I love mine. It isn't loud at all, in fact I can hear my tires more than my exhaust on the highway and that's ho I like it. Not much cab noise at all.
