decision time! need some help!

i am currently driving a 2001 Ranger Edge 2wd 3.slow 5-speed standard cab, and have been given the chance to trade for my sisters 1998 Ranger XLT 2wd 3.slow auto extended cab. my question is which would you choose if you were going to be building a prerunner style truck. i have a $10,000 spending limit, and i know what parts i would use for either truck. the extended cab would give extra room for a cab cage, and change the center of gravity towards the rear more, but it doesnt have the acceleration that my standard cab has, plus my Edge only has 70k on it, where the XLT has about 150k on it.

Well for starters the XLT has coils. Hmmm. Not sure what has more lifting options.

sounds to me like your stuck between a rock and a hard place.

imo if you wanna build a prerunner style truck the extended cab would look better. your not really gaining anything.

but i say extended cab.. because you have more room to put ****, if it has the rear jump seats, ****ing rip them bastards outta there..especially if you build a cage. i've never owned a regular cab truck, but i've ridden in PLENTY of them and there's not much room.. does the extended cab have the rear sliding window??

get a pic of the ext cab and post it up... also depends on what shape the body is in too..

I say you trade for your sisters, throw in a 5.0L, drop it 2/3 and put it on some 18's or 20's
