Icon9 Depressed about my 3.0

So, everyone I know says my truck is slow and I shouldn't have bought a 3.0 and should've gone for the 4.0 which I guess is about a 15. second drag time in a 1/4 mile... I was wondering if ya'll knew something I could do to make my truck a little bit better...Cause I'll face it, I don't know jack sh*it of what goes on with my ranger haha! (silly girl ) All I know is I am NOT running nitrous in it...I need this truck to last me atleast 5 more years lol. Or maybe instead of making it like a track truck, possibly some kind of offroad looking, or just street truck...SOMETHING! ANYTHING!

Gimme some ideas guys & gals. If there's hope at all for my little 3.0 :-\

Supercharger or custom turbo kit is exactly what your looking for.

I HIGHLY doubt a stock 4.0 will run 15 in the 1/4.

Agreed, I was out at Bandimere Speedway out here in Colorado a week ago and saw a couple of 4.0's run mid 17's. Sea level maybe a high 16.

IMO it depends on what you want to do. If you want to 4 wheel it, build it up. If you want it fast, I'm no help there, but build it to make it fast.

I've heard that the 4.0s run 16s frequently so maybe a lil modding could hit 15 or something. i don't know much though because i'm on 35s.

I recommend you date a guy with a mustang.

Well I got the time off Dragtimes.com heres the link-http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Ranger-Timeslip-7702.html
I thought a 15 second stock 4.0 would be ridiculous as well. I know mine with the exhaust I have would be like...19

Supercharger, I heard they're not the greatest...

Get an intake, tuner, and underdrive pulley. All that wil give you more power. All that can be purchased from stuffforyourranger.com. What kind of exhaust do you have?

First off, boost is extremely popular with Fords - whatever it may be, roots style, centrifugal, turbo, etc.

And second, you mentioned you have a 3" Magnaflow. Is that the pipe daimeter after the muffler?

It's a pick -up truck, why do you want it to be a race car?

Your a chick that drives a truck. That is cool enough.

I would suggest an intake, programmer, and you already have the exhaust. all three will help HP, be easy on the purse, and help with mpg.

If your pipe tubing size after the muffler is 3" you need to get that changed..

3" is way too big for a naturally aspirated 3.0. I would get the tailpie(s) changed to 2.25".

You should notice a decent increase in a power gain due to more back pressure over the current 3" diameter (better low-end acceleration)

Not exactly "race car" but I don't know I just want a little "kick" out of it, if not I want some trailing or mudding out of it.

lmao I think I made up my mind this time that I want to mudd it/make it look like one badass offroading machine. Maybe almost prerunning style.

BUT knowing me I'll see some girl with a fast truck/car and get all mad about it and wanna do that too, but I think I'm just gonna stick to who I am and just make it high so I can look down on the fast cars atleast lolz!!!
