The Desert Tactical Ranger

Alrighty, what I'm going for here is the Desert Tactical Ranger. Tan and black interior, all black exterior. All lighting inside is green so it wont hurt your night vision. Lots of other stuff Im going to do to it. IE AR-15 mount where the back jump seat goes, or on the roof; I wanna get some inferred lights behind the grill so I can drive with just my night vision. But thats all to come later.

I also took your guys' suggestions, I've done some things. First I ripped off all of the Limited Edition and Turbo crap, added some 06' emblems. Also painted the center caps on the wheels and the teardrops on one side...ran out of paint... and threw on 3 coats of wax. Thought The Strip would be a good backdrop.

Interior, I painted some of the trim black so I have the complete 2 tone interior.

Added a Surefire G2 with P61 120 lumen lamp.

Velcro for patches and to hold my cell phone when im driving.

Passive Anti-Theft System...

Finally I reupholsted my armrest with some memory foam. Soft as a pillow.

Tell me what ya'll think! More to come later as I get money for new stuff!

I like it because it's practical. This project has tons of potential. I like where you're going with it.

Why would you need to drive with night vision on??? Also isn't red better for night vision than green is?

Red and Green are the best colours for night vision because they don't strain your eyes.

Yeah I've always thought red was the best, didn't know if it was the same as green or not.

Either or. Ever raced throught the desert with night vision and IR headlights? Funest **** in the world. Did it with a buddy in the Air Force and their Spec Ops Humvee.

largest contrast from white and black.... nothing to do with the affect it has on your eyes

red is easiest and hardest to pick up thus why military uses it in flashlights

When you get into an accident and your airbag goes off with your phone there it's gonna fly off and knock you out. Same thing with the flashlight, it's going to fly off and probably hit you in the head.

Putting anything on the airbag is a BAD idea. Ever seen anyone have their wedding ring cause serious damage to their head because their airbag went off while their hand was at 12 o'clock? I have, knocked them out and got stitches, and has a scar that looks like the ring.

AR mount on the roof isnt a good idea either, stick with the jump seat area.

Other than that keep it up, it's looks good. Do what makes you happy.

Bonus points for the passive anti-theft system lol.

I can honestly say there is only on thing I like that you've done to your truck and that's the gun mounted to the side of the floor console. IMO, the armrest looks bad, the Velcro on the steering wheel looks tacky the wheels are gross with the paint and the painted center caps and the stickers... take them off. Why in the world would you want to put a mount in your truck for an AR-15.

Seems the one side of the truck is in conflict with the other. Why is one sticker straight and the other slanted?

Don't like anything other than the pistol holder.

What's inferred? Why would you put at AR-15 mount on the truck. Mounting stuff to the airbag is a horrible idea, and the flashlight on the A-pillar wouldn't be fun in an accident either.
I don't like the pistol holster either. IMO, that is just a horrible place to put it. Even if you take the gun out every time you park somewhere, it is attracting attention for anyone who looks in the truck, and asking for someone to break in looking for the gun.
I don't know what the gun laws are there, but if an officer pulled you over, you are asking for a world of **** by having the gun right there and and AR mount. Putting a gun in sight is just asking for trouble from anyone.

Infrared...My bad.

Patches dont hurt and they are usually the only thing on the bag. Cell is just there sometimes. Flashlight would go out the window so thats not a problem.

Nevada law is open carry without a permit. And since I also have a CCW, it goes in one of those 2 places at all times. That holster is just for when im driving, alot easier to pop someone trying to carjack me at gun point if the gun is in a holster right there rather then an inside the waist band holster.

The AR-15 mount is for when i go out shooting or camping. Which is about 3 times a month. Same purpose as a gun mount in the back window, only this is a hell of alot harder to spot.

Like I said, you believe in Ford, so you ***** it all over your cars. I happen to support our men and women in the Military, so I ***** a Military company...

Awesome but you gotta put the phone somewhere else. That could kill you if your airbag goes off.

IMO i dont like a thing.

velcro on the steering wheel to hold your cell phone is just dumb to me when you have pockets and cup holders. nevertheless, putting anything in front of your airbag is just a bad idea. the memory foam looks like a $3 universal item that can be found at a swap shop. the flashlight on the pilar is tacky.... mite as well put a mini fire extinguisher on there like old civics with a $45 fart can do. if your going to paint your wheels, at least finish. though, i would not have advised it to begin with. the decals are conflicting and you have so many i cant help but view the truck the same way i veiw those cars you see on tv that have 15,000 bumper stickers on them. and as for the gun.... that is a horrible idea. having guns mounted/left in plain sight is just asking for trouble.

i feel your truck is to "loud." there is ways to make a vehicle stand out in a crowd and still be simple.

also, i should add..... i feel "to each his own" needs to be said. i can appreciate anything custom because the work ppl put into their rides show dedication. if you are happy with it, then dont let anyone tell you differently.
