Do Rangers Suck?
If my truck were totalled, I most likely would not buy another one. My next truck will probably be a '97 - '04 (Heritage) F-150 or a '99 - current Silverado. For me a fullsize would just work better. I find the short and narrow bed on my truck kind of limiting. Things like matresses and riding mowers can be a challenge. I'd also like more useable seats, room and comfort on the inside.
That said, the Ranger does not suck at all. It serves its intended purpose very well. My truck has done more than what it was designed for without any problems. It's incredibly tough and reliable. My next truck will be a fullsize, but assuming the Ranger isn't wrecked, I will probably keep it around since it's just so good at what Ford designed it to do.

i love my ranger and its paid for but sadly it will be gone with in the next few months. i love not having the payment but i need more room. and while i have my eye on a new ranger with an ext. cab it still only seats 2 people comfortably. idk i been thinking of a dodge magnum r/t i think they are so cool looking and have plenty of room and power. and with the right equipment i still can tow up to 3800 lbs if i decide to continue to work for my dad. who knows i might say screw the car and end up with another ranger.
my god everyone is getting rid of theres...or thats what it feels like. personally i love my truck the only thing i dont like is have 2wheel drive and a dinky motor and im taking care of that this summer......4x4orawd with a 5.0 302 explorer v8....then i will love it. all i need is one passenger seat for the girl...and thats it.....if we need something bigger the girls got a bigger vehicle. anywys byte.

I might get a 4 cyl. next time though, or maybe a different color, but I would get a Ranger or a Mazda B for sure. Do you like your truck and would you buy another one? Or, do you hate it and you only bought it because it was cheap?

My first Ranger was a 97 4x2 XLT Flareside 4-cylinder manual w/o power options. Ford was running a promotion where you got a substantial discount for this Flareside/manual/XLT combination. This was my one and only leased vehicle because it was so incredibly cheap. The APP lease price for 2 years was ~$2600+plates and I had a Driver's Edge Visa with ~$2000 worth of purchase credits on it. I ended up driving away with a new XLT with air and a CD player for $682 out-of-pocket for 2 years. The insurance on it cost more than the lease!
Well when I sell my Ranger after it's all fixed up like I want it to be. I'll be getting either
Option 1:
Option 2:
Reason? Ranger has no power. If you want power, prepare to spend a buncha money. I like mine, but I'm not going to be fixing it up anymore other than finishing redoing the interior. When I get out of the Navy I'm selling it, but right now I just gotta finish what I started!
