Looking at this Explorer, what do you think?

I'm looking at getting this Explorer asap. I don't car about the front gears missing and all, I just want to make sure this thing is somewhat "safe" if not what would you correct to make it safe so that I can drive it. I'm going to be converting this one to 4WD as well. Should be a fun project. And can you tell what axle is under the front?

imo, i'd lose the blocks, and a leaf or two, add some slightly smaller tires, and i'd be good to go. but idk about what you want.

It's not about flexing down here (Alabama, Georgia, Florida) for the most part. Once you get south of Atlanta its pretty flat, mud/swamp is the biggest thing down our way.

wtf is up with that stearing piece is it bent up and it looks like its about to rub the tire. if they bent the cast i wouldn't drive it its only time till it will snap off.

If you're going this direction, why don't you go get your old Ranger back?

2k...yes do it. Just in drivetrain, tires and body its worth it. You just need the front gears, front ds, and few odds and ends? Crap I would do it for that...can anyone say mud truck???

It almost looks big enough to be a 60, but its probably a D44. The tubes look too small to be a 60.

where do i start?
-The rear axle almost looks like a 7.5, but its probably 8.8.. still too small for tires that big IMO.
-Front shackle angles need to be fixed
-steering is sketchy as *****, seriously wtf is up with the "high steer" arm
-do you get the front axle shafts?
-you probably want a HP front axle to help with the pinion angle
-it looks like the rear shackle angles could use some help.
-front lift blocks have have got to go.

but for 2k why not..
