Driver side Window Skipping

On my 2001 edge my driver side window skips when rolling down. When I have the engine off however it doesnt skip. The window rolls down faster I noticed with the engine on. Whats going on?

My 2010 driver window also skips/shimmies on the way down.. Took it to the dealership and they lubed the channels... started again a few days later.. I'll bring it back in when I have the time,, possibly a shoddy design??

what will help it though is put some silicone grease on the window regulator...that will help smooth it out

It's skipping cause the plastic internals of the gear box on the motor are slowly breaking apart. Soon it won't go up or down at all. Open the window motor gear box and see all the plastic bits I'm talking about.

My fix was to remove the plastic "clutch *****" and fill it with JB weld, fixed it permanently and window moves smoother and faster.
Make sure you clean out all the plastic bits, them pack it really good with grease til it almost over fills.

The ***** are there to create a shock to help move the window from a stand still, but over time the ***** break down and slowly crumble till only bits are left to help move it.

as well as lights being brighter, wipers moving faster, turn signals blinking faster, it's because instead of just running off of the battery your alternator is charging the battery.
