Ebay Key fob
Ebay Key fob
has anyone bought a keyless entry fob off of ebay? mine quit working some years ago and never got one, and theyre 50 bucks at ford, vs 13 on ebay..are they reliable and durable? anything i should know?
My parents bought two off ebay for their Continental....They look and feel OEM. Work fine. We have them for back up so they don't get used much. But we've had them for going on 3 years now.
When I bought my truck, it came with one remote key fob, and it was marginally working (it would always lock the truck, but only occasionally unlock the truck), and the icons were starting to wear off the buttons.
I found a guy on ebay that sold new OEM key fobs that were identical to the one I already had (and it is important to get the same type/style... they're not all interchangeable, even within the same manufacturer). I think it ran me all of $25 shipped to my door. I programmed it it for my truck, and have been using it ever since with no problems or difficulties.
Also, don't pay for "programming directions" for these things... the procedure is clearly spelled out in your owner's manual.
Make sure you've gathered all the key fobs you wish to use for your truck, then:
