What does a Edge mean for a Ford Ranger ??

and Fx4 mean Front wheel drive and 4 wheel drive ??

 

fx4 4 wheel drive

edge can be 4wd as well, but its a trim package with color matched bumpers and comes with a torsion bar suspension, it is now called the sport package

also, the edge 2wd and 4wd were the same ride height. all ford ranger 4x4's regardless of trim level, come with torsion bars (after 1997, i think)

 

2wd EDGE is very similar to the Prerunner Tacoma package....meaning, 4x4 suspension, but not 4x4.

FX4 is ford's "off road" package. My theory: F(our) X (by) 4. does that make since? There;s a nicethread put together here somewhere that describes the differences between the '02 and 03 FX4s.
