I have a 98 ranger with the 3.0 auto and I'm looking for some advise. The tranny in the truck is pretty well shot and the 3.0 just sucks, I have a 92 explorer just sitting around that has a 4.0 and is a 5 speed 2wd the engine needs head gaskets so I was going to pull it anyway. My question is how hard would it be to take the engine tranny and driveshafts out and obviously all electronics and the clutch set up and swap them into my ranger. Not having 4x4 won't bother me because that one has never worked right. And the body on the explorer is shot so I need to get rid of it any way.
