Fuel Injector Cleaner

I have used fuel cleaner every oil change for as long as I can remember. I was talking to a very good mechanic friend of mine and he said that cleaner was just a waste of money, maybe use it once or twice a year is what he recommends, what are your thoughts on it. I have did a web search and found about 50/50 opinions.

Most things saturated in 20 gallons of gas are going to be pretty useless. Especially if you are actually using it every 3,000 miles or whatever interval you change your oil.

ford recomends the chevron stuff but ive seen some demonstrations where the cleaner will actually leave residue on your valves and stuff. its better to have a dealer motor vac the engine every 50k or something its the cleaner on steroids its strong enough to actually eat the insides of the injectors out if it gets left in your fuel rail for a couple of days lol!

I use 3 oz. of Lucas Injector Cleaner when ever ever I think to do so, or the MPG's start to drop off. Have used others and can't see much difference in any of them, I buy the Lucas cause you can get it by the quart and add it by the measuring cup for whatever size tank you have.

I've had better results with Lucas injector cleaner than any other injector cleaner I have tried. Used most recently on a 3.1 GM v6 with a bad #3 misfire, which cleared up quickly after using the Lucas. I use it every 2-3 months/3,000-5,000 miles.
