Exact Model Identification

Hello,
I got my 2002 Ford Ranger a few years back and it came with no user manual. Because of that, I don't know the exact model other than it being the 4x4 4.0L w/ extended cab 'edge'. The title doesn't say.

I need to order a replacement for the rear bumper + pad and there seem to be compatibility issues/constraints as to what Ranger model the replacement parts are compatible with.

I'm attaching a couple of photos that should help.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum

You can get your owners manual here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...1-models-3747/

You have a Flare side(Ford) bed, AKA Step side(GM) bed
So it will have a narrower bumper than a "style side" bed, it had no step so wider bed and wider rear bumper

The tail light assembly on either type of bed is the same, but you need a 2001-2005 model to match the other sides lens, they were changed in 2006 but would still fit, so you could change BOTH if needed

I think you can still order the Sales sheet/window sticker, for your Ranger, just need the VIN number and go to a Ford Dealer and they can order/print it for you, I think its under $20

Thank you for the response, I appreciate it.

It seems to be hard to find the right bumper for the flareside body style. I seem to be out of luck on Amazon, Ebay and Carparts.com

Any ideas where I could get the set?

You can get both the bumper in either chrome or painted, and the brackets from LMC Truck. Check there on line catalog, Ranger Parts, page 45. They are OE style, but be prepared for sticker shock....$400.00.

Yes, Flare side parts can be hard to come by

LMC Truck show this one: https://www.lmctruck.com/1983-11-for...-primer-bumper

The chrome one is back ordered: https://www.lmctruck.com/1983-11-for...-chrome-bumper

Not cheap, lol

LMC also looks like they have the tail lights: https://www.lmctruck.com/lighting/tail-light

Go to LMC Truck: https://www.lmctruck.com/#

click on Vehicle selector and fill in the blanks

Enrico, for info...I've searched every aftermarket truck accessory company I could think of, including Westin Bumpers, ETrailer, Car Id, ect and it seems no one except LMC Truck carries a rear bumper for a Ranger Flare side, or for that matter a Chevy S 10 Stepside.
Aside from LMC, your best bet is going to be a salvage yard, or maybe keep your eyes out on this and other forums for someone who is parting out a Flare side.
Suggest you also check the Craigslist in your area, and also Facebook Marketplace for a Ranger Flairside that is being parted out.
Good Luck.
