Icon9 Extream door shake, Rattle, Ajar sound.

Ok so I have an 04 Ranger single cab. When I am on a dirt road the doors sound like they are not closed all the way. Anyone else have this problem or know of a cure?

When I am on a dirt road my inside door handles shake really bad as well. Mine are just the part that you grab.

See if you can tighten some bolts, screw, etc... I would also try some WD-40 in the hinges and what not.

i used to have that problem, until i fixed it. you can tighten the bolts on the grab handles. you have to remove the door panel to do it though.

I have something loose in my passenger side locking mechanism that gives off this annoying rattle when I go over bumps. I can replicate the sound by jiggling the lock around between my fingers but I haven't bothered taking the door panel off to repair it yet.

If only not going on dirt roads were an option, But I dont do it for fun, Well ok I do but its only because I have family who live in the desert. One reason for buying my ranger.

My 04 regular cab does the exact same thing. Lots of noise from rattling doors, especially the passenger side. Mine has gotten bad enough that it squeeks nonstop even driving in town. I havent even attempted to fix anything yet, but when I do I'll let you know what I come up with. Please do the same.

Adjust the striker (in the door jamb) I loosened mine moved it inward (toward the interior) and retightened and it eliminated my door rattle.

If you move it too much the door will stick out a little or be hard to shut, so it may take moving it a time or two.

I have the same problem in my 07 passenger door, but ford is going to fix that on my next service. I love warranty I still haven't turned a wrench on my truck.
