Factory plastic bedrails/bedcaps.. ??
 

Im not exactly sure what they are called.. but i think someone here might just know what im talking about.

I see a few older rangers ... 05ish models and older with these plastic caps on the side of the beds. They are about 2 inches tall... kinda tapered.

Im curious WTF these are actually called, lol and where i can get some! :sombrero:

Yeah the Edge rail caps, Jeweler actually is getting rid of his soon if you want to PM him

man I've been looking for some too, they pop up on Ebay every now and then...

I think they would look good on the Sport model trucks, shame they discontinued them

I think the official term for them is "Bed rails" i like them too.

They are also called bed rail caps.

I want a set too, there was a set on CL for 30, I should have gotten them.

They look like butt! Was so glad mine didn't have them. I would have made the dealer take them off.

do they make caps for the tailgate?

They came factory on all xlt+ 01-02 Short bed fleet side rangers and were an option in the following years. They are garbage and tacky as hell. I took mine off on the way home from the dealer and they already scratched the paint. I through them in the shed at my parents house and I am sure they are still there, 8 years later.

That's what I have... bought 'em on craigslist but I know a few guys on here have some they don't like... I painted mine black and LOVE them.. only problem is they are hell on the paint so if that's an issue for you steer clear!

I had them and liked them. But then when I got my tonneau I had to get rid of them, they really scratch up the paint bad and some moron stripped before I owned the truck stripped out the screws in all of them so I had to use an ez-out on all of them.

I like the bed caps my 99 4x4 came with. Mine also had a tailgate cap. I like em, just need to rhino line or linex my bed.....

i think a line-x or rhino liner is waaaaaay better than those plastic POS. my truck came with the chrome bed rails, and they were awful. just my 2 cents. do what you want.

I don't like those chrome bars they have on the beds of some Rangers nowadays. Looks like a chromed handicap bar in public restrooms. :biggrin: And it screams JCWhitney~ized.

It would look good but you better plan on NEVER taking them off... that would be horrific on the paint... I just painted mine w/ krylon fusion... it's holding up great

i thought about getting a pair when my truck sat higher, but came across the tonneau insead

if you wanna run these put 3m paint protector films under there 1st problem solved
