Is Ford Killing the Ranger?? the truth

I have always been a ford fan, my ranger today is my 5th one. However I have also always felt ford seems to be a foot behind on things, take the sport trac it should have been based on the ranger more than the explorer, & why cant ford make a ranger w/ a 4.6 v8? hey should give it a complete makeover ext & int though! I have looked at the same dash for 14 years hmmmm. I would love to see a 3.0 litre diesel w/ A TURBO! I Love these trucks so much that I sold my 2006 f-350 4 door diesel for my latest 2008 ranger strange maybe but true! IF your reading this Mr. Ford CEO just give the ranger a little makeover & a v/8 & a diesel option. Thanks I feel better.

Sure you would love to see these models made. Do you have the means to sell what you have now and buy the $30,000+ truck you want Ford to make? Chevy made a V8 4 door Colorado. How many people do you think actually bought one vs people that said they would buy one?

Why would they make the ranger with a diesel? Then they would have to redesign the frame, rear axle, etc to just to support the extra weight it would be able to tow. It's never going to happen

while were at it lets add some 1 ton axles and leaf springs, maybe some coils up front, then call it a full size and not a ranger.

they do make a diesel ranger just not available in US. The only noticable difference I saw in it was beefier suspension. And a true 4 door version. If I can find the pics I have I will share.

We all know about the diesel Ranger. Its nothing new. They don't make it here because of emission laws and it just wouldn't be practical.

No need I know which one your talking about. I'm talking about the US, not any other foreign countries. Its not going to happen, shoot they don't even have a diesel in the f-150 yet why would they put one in a ranger.

I see where the guy is coming from... the Ranger definitely needs to be updated! I dont think it needs a V8 though. I can see updating the interior, and the body. maybe get a new engine (the 4.0 SOHC id pretty outdated) Maybe some suspension upgrades (coilovers!) would be nice too. Other than that, you guys that want a V8, get an f-150

Lord of war my f- 350 was paid for the day I drove it of the lot!! believe or not I dont care. oh my ranger is mine so is my 2010 mustang gt, which is next to my 1970 shelby 350 oh man i just realized I'm a loser I couldnt aford a shelby 500!
Actually w/ the f-350 there were alot problems with the electrical, so after ford had in the shop too many times to make me happy, Ford bought it back. & I really didnt need it anyway seeing that I have A 1979 F-250 4x4 w/ a 514 big block , which I think has plenty of power shall I go on?

Yeah that is pretty lame you should have gotten the GT500, I love mine. I drive my 04 Termi more though, its a battle between that one and my new ZR1 I just got. I recently gave my new Camaro away to a homeless man because I didn't like it.

You must be very wealthy person to have paid for a 2006 F-350, a 2010 Mustang, a 1970 Shelby, and a Ranger.

Wow...

Kind of like when Hoz joined. He said he had a Lambo. Who in their right mind would own a Ranger when they make enough to own a Lambo? I know I wouldn't.

No lambo here. I have a excavating company. I have 3 rangers in the field for my craft forman, why rangers instead of big boy trucks? uhm lets see they are cheaper, as for your thoughts of alot of money well not really just comfy. & yup I have pics of my toys . will I share? yeah I have to make a page so you can look, how do I prove that they are mine & @ my house or whatever else you can come up w/ is up to your thoughts & voices in your head. but in the mean time does anyone really know if the are killing the ranger off.

Ford will probably just change the lights, grill, packages and colors and call it a new truck again. Edge Sport package? Lol.
