Replacing the multipurpse switch

Hey guys

For the last few months I've been having a problem with my headlights not working and I was wondering if I can get some help on it. I have a 2000 3.0l v6 and when I turn the headlight switch I have parking lights but no headlights and if I push the multipurpose switch to turn on the high beams I don't get anything but if I pull back on it the high beams work. I have just replaced the headlight switch a few weeks ago I also have a set of fog lights wired in to the left(passenger side) headlight. Any help on this would be great and information on how to replace the multipurpose switch would be great. I had the Haynes repair manual before we moved but now I can't find it to save my life

I would look at the back of your headlight switch. My head light switch connector was melted to the point the wire was loose.

Yeah I replaced that a few months ago mine some of the wires were coming out. I talked to a friend of mine and he said it sounds like the turn signal switch is bad. Auto zone has it for $60 but I don't have that right now cause were saving up to take my son to Dallas in oct and for my reg on the truck on the first
