RPS runs the most up to date Vbulletin as well, and also has more members and more experts, of course it's been around longer so it has that advatnage.

i'm just not cool with the whole site layout...if i dont like what i see in the first screen, its over, RPS looks crowded and un organized, this sight is clean and very easy on the eye.

USE THE SEARCH BUTTON lol!

RPS is a fine site, but to big for some tastes. I originally started my Ranger obsession there, it lasted about 2 days because in my newbieness I aparantly asked questions that only deserved "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON" responses, or general disdain from the regulars.

Then I went to generation-edge.com. Well that chapter is well documented already, and now I'm primarily here. Why? Because I don't have time to surf 3 or 4 different ranger web sites. I got better things to do than read forums all day. I have nothing against the other forums, just that I like this one the best.

I'm not saying this is the end all, be all ranger site, but I think we are laying the groundwork to grow into a big contender. Time will tell all.

They've calmed down a bit, but the mods/admins ruined RPS for alot of people. I'm just now starting to show my face there again. Not bashing on RPS or anything, it's a site filled with tons of info. They could just be more welcoming to the newbies is all.

i used to go on trs, but "redshred" banned me permanetly. he hates me, but i still try to get along with him and he just cuts me down.

i was banned for 3 weeks 5 months ago and still cant get on the forums. i know i said some stupid stuff but why did he tell me one thing then do another? then i saw him on our chat program on wednesday night (chat night) and man he must of been on drugs or something becouse the stuff he was saying was crazy. he came out of nowhere and said "i go poopie", then he said, "i like to shuve peanuts up my butt", then me and some one else are talking about these girls we used to know, he said that the girl he used to know went the other way, then he said you know what i mean, she doesnt like the sausage delivery guy, but then redshred said "i like the sausage delivery guy" we were like WHAT???

You do know that people can pick any name they like for that.... on the TRS chat software, you don't have to enter a password, just type your name and go....

When I started surfing the different Ranger and truck forums, I figured, being vehicle-related sites would weed out a lot of childish people, since most areas you have to be 16 to get your license... no 12-14 yr olds (or younger) like on a lot of chat sites. For the most part people are mature, but there are always those that for some reason feel the need to act like a bratty kid and pick on people and make childish or derogatory comments about them.

I only go to RPS to sell and buy stuff for my Ranger.

Other than that, I only see stuff discussing older rangers there like TRS does, and that doesn't appeal to me.

R-F and GE are the two best, IMO.

I think that TRS is the best mechanical forum; you can find out all the steps to switch a V8 into your truck or change back axles. Also TRS covers mostly old trucks although it does have a wealth of information for newer trucks. The mods there pertain to mostly offroading,

Rangerpowersports i look at if i need to find something vague and i think that out of a lot of people someone must have commented on it. Its kind of confusing to figure out the new and old post though.

Ranger-forums, you guys are very like a family with eachother, which is cool. Also, you all seem to have recent Rangers and mine is a 99 XLT Extended so I am interested in your mods. Also, you guys have a lot more money than me! I can barely afford a pair of alteezas without worrying about money.

Generation-edge, I check it out every once in a while, sortof seems like a slowly dying forum? They certainly need a new home screen.

Thats my rating of the forums, R-F.com is by far the best looking forum in my opinion.

Aaron

RPS- is the best IMO, it has the best tech info and easy to buy and sell stuff.

RF-its cool but ive noticed that the same 5-10 people ***** the boards posting in every single thread. I wish this site had more tech info on it. To me this site seems like its the one thats unorganized, for example in the buy/selling forum you have one big board for everything. On RPS you have indivdual boards for specific parts. Same thing with engines, etc.

Yup, we are the same 5-10 people, for the most part. But then that's what apeals to me. I'm done screwing w/ the truck, I want to BS w/ people I (sorta) know and give a damn about. That's why RF appeals to me. W/ people like John, Dave, and the rest around discussions get intellegent and interesting. Besides, many members here are members there too. So if you need a peice of tech info, even money says someone here knows where to find it..

I definately like R-F over any other ranger site.. when i first started out in the forums, this site was only a month or so old, so the people here were very welcoming and continuted to be friendly. still to the day, this is the site im usually always on. the community here is most appealing to me. i only go to RPS from time to time to BS around and check out the For Sale sections, and sometimes the Audio sections.. I forgot about TRS, so im never there.. like someone mentioned anyway, it seems to be aimed more at older rangers and off roading.. which is cool.. but just isnt me. GE i just didnt like the layout, then hearing the comments about it on here, i just didnt feel a need to check it out any further.

anyway.. mainly this is my fav. ranger site because of the community. i've met some cool people thru this site, and hope to keep doing so!

If OTHER information is wanted to be said, i'd say start a new topic or if you jsut wanna BS with another person do it in OT.
