FORGIVE ME

FORGIVE ME FOR ASKING...
but tomorrow I am buying a Klein Jobsite Box and I want to install it against my driver and passenger backseat.
but it’s too big so I’m thinking of Hammering down my
Wheels Wells a little so it’ll have a snug fit..

PLEASE tell me if this is a BAD IDEA

Any other ideas would be great

You should be fine then. I'm guessing it won't look the greatest but if you just have a work truck and care only about functionality it won't be a problem. It'll also be really easy to hammer down.

good luck, I know the struggle! I keep a flat tool box behind the seat but it takes up a lot of room in such a small truck. No way I'm leaving home without some tools though!

Watch the welds, they can crack easy when hammering, and then RUST will work its wain.
After hammering spray or brush on some beed liner material.
Thinner metal than you might expect slow and easy !

No idea if you have a Styleside or a Steppie Bed but there a a large number of boxes that go in the beds and the steppie has a few, I have a diamond plate box for my Steppie, just need to get back to that point of install.

If you haven't got it already take a minute and check out the different bosses out there, some good, some very thin walled and some like mine have an option of thicker wall material.

Good Luck which ever way you go !

First wow, a large bed box to say the least, a beast !

AND wow on the modified bed... make sure you didn't weaken the bed maybe some reenforcement under the front of the tool box, frame rail to rail.

Luck,

Make sure you paint over that bare metal! As thin as it is, it doesn't take much for it to rust.
You should have plenty of room for tools now! I like it.

Luck,
Thank You, I searched high and low for a Big box that would fit my shirtbed ranger. This one was So Close but about two inches too big. so I hammered and drilled through the wheel well.
it’s so Snug now. I just need to figurd how to cover up the holes and reinforce like you said.
in the offchance i need to sell it soon I’ll purchase a bed liner to cover the damage I made from up top.

xoxo
