I was just wondering what year i use to swap my 2000 ford ranger front end with, and also where i can get the parts at for a cheap price.

Well it depends on what you are doing. If you want to keep your current style 98-01 Ranger. If you want to go with an older or newer styling front end you will need the complete header panel, both fenders, hood, front bumper and upper radiator support.

If your going with a newer front end you won't have to change out the hood. They interchange for years past the 2000 model, I know up to 2007, may be the same on the current one. Now if you wanted to switch to an Edge hood that would be different.

negative. 98+ run the same fenders, core support. most of the time, you will need the header panel, lights, grill, and hood for the year/trim package you want. if you go 04+, then you will need the driver's hood hinge and possibly the hood latch.

go 97 and older, then you'll need core support, header panel, lights, grill, fenders, etc.

@OP it would be alot easier if you tell us what year you want to swap to

Here are your choices:
93-97
01-03
04-05, 06+ (same stuff just different grilles)

no.

You need a few things for a 01-03 front:
Headlights
Corner lights (01-05 or 06+)
Header panel
4x4 Honeycomb Grille

You can keep your hood but your 98-00 hood is basically a 01-03 2WD hood so it will look funny. But it will fit and work just fine.

yeah defiantly one of those things you don't "need" but it won't be complete without.
