So I was driving home one night and my wheel bearing went to ##$#. But anyway I got the truck home jacked it up took it all apart and noticed the old bearing was destroyed. After 2 hours of hammering I got the rotor off and to my surprise there was this random looking bolt I haven't seen before and I grabbed my new bearing to attempt to put it on and the bolt in thought was in the way. So I decided to cut this thing off. After 4 hours of cutting it came off .note picture not included
so now I go to slide the new outer bearing on and the thing still does go on. I'm just stuck now The random bolt thing. After cutting for a while More cutting but its completely off
That WAS the inner bearing, or what was left of it. That threaded section was part of the spindle that the bearings ride on. Since you cut into it, you've destroyed it and now need to replace the entire steering knuckle. Luckily, if the bearing welded itself to the spindle, it was probably already junk anyway. Do not under any circumstances attempt to re-use that spindle and steering knuckle.
