Full set of Skid Plates *updated*

Well... took me about a year watching ebay, and I have finally reached my goal. To get a full set of skid plates for my truck.

However, my last skid plate came with an extra skid plate that I have no use for, so that goes onto ebay.... seems to me that those who are looking for skid plates dont quite understand the concept of locating them on ebay. the search term required is:

Ranger Skid Plate (thats the term I use, its a broad term which will locate all "ranger skid plate" listings)

Dont worry about your year, anything 97 and newer has a damn good chance of fitting. after all, my transfer case plate is off a 98, my front plate is off a 2000 and this last set is off a 2001

difference in color is a diff camera setting

unMounted:

Required tools

Had a problem with the plate fitting correctly, the inner mount wouldnt line up
so I had to rectify it by drilling a new hole

This is the front skid plate i got this last fall

you have to remove this for the skid plate to fit

and last but not least, in an effort to keep my engine clean, driverside wheel well:

heres the run down $ wise:

Front skid plate: $65 US Shipped
Mid Skid Plate: $40 US Shipped
Fuel Tank AND Mid skid plate: $101 US Shipped - this packaged deal included the mid plate, which I had already have, so I sold it on ebay.

Ebay search term used to locate skid plates: Ranger Skid

thats the EXACT term I used, every time.
The explorer fuel tank skid plate will NOT work.

use my search term and ull find all auctions for the skid plates.

im hoping to mount the gas tank one tomarrow.

btw, i looked at an 05 gas tank skid plate, and it seems a bit cheaper than the one i got, all mine seem to be pretty heavy duty.......

if that is a full set where is the front plate?

I see a problem with Ford marketing on that one
unless you get the Level II you don't get the front plate and that one seems pretty important if you like your radiator and steering components

Indeed they are extremely nice to have. My 02 FX4 has them all, and I too can vouch for them ALL being used, especially the front one. I dont know where I'd be without them.

Could you do some before and after pics?

looking at it..it might be typical, cause its really not formed specificly to my size tank, it looks like it wouldnt matter

but i could be wrong

I thought you only had the front one that ahem cough cough ahem someone in AZ trashed going over a dune, haha.

Those are pretty nifty though, and the gas tank plate looks decently strong, what is the price on that one, I'd like to get it while I wait for my fuel cell.

Good to hear, I think I'll get one just to protect my rear end (don't have a bed). Thanks Scott.
