The transfer case skidplate is complete junk. If you go over a rock or stump or something, the t-case will get slammed up into your transfer case. I would have made a custom one before I would have bought one on ebay.

What surprised me, is the skid plates actually pretty heavy duty... their not just sheet metal the have some thickness to them, however, if youtr going to do serious off roading with your vehical, then you should think about getting skid plates that are really thick and strong. the transfer case plate - the smallest of the 3, probably weighs about 30lbs.

thats kinda hard to say, i got a lil tool for that, ill take a peak when it stops rainging.... tho the front is prob the thinnest tho, its shiny, looks nice, and 6 bolts and its on... simply, bolt it on which is nice, no fab required... works great for lazy people like me

check with a dealer or online, try ebay and stuff, i know back when a few guys had success with finding some.

Could have gone to Busti auto in Jamestown NJ. My buddies only paid 50 for the pair of the gas tank and the transfer case. Look them up next time you need parts they are an all ford junkyard and are pretty close to you.

does anyone know if the stock front skid plate will work if you have a body lift?? or will it just look retarted??
