full size spare tire

just bought a lightly used 2006 Fx4 series ii.

can a person hang a full size tire where the spare goes? the truck does have a receiver hitch. seems like it would make sense to run with a full size spare but would suck to carry it in the bed.

any thoughts out there?

how big do you plan to go? up to a 30 or 31 can fit under there. the 2010 brochure says a fullsize spare. it also lists three tire sizes. a 225/70r15, a235/75r15 and a 255/75r16

came with 31/10.5R15

BFgoodrich off road something or other. LOUD. Going to swap with my '93 ranger wheels and tires tomorrow morn, same size just all season radials. i like the allows on the old ranger better and the tires should be quiter and have more tread.

i read on some page that this model was to come with a full size spare. not so. it has a 235 something temp. looks like IF it fits it will be tight.

you would think the top o line ranger off road would come with a full size spare. confuses me.

I currently have a Mickey Thompson 285/75R16 tire mounted to the 16x7 steel spare wheel, mounted in the stock location. Fits just fine.
