Future Suspension Poll
Well its that time again, Im bored with the truck and want to do something..but im stuck..
Im either wanting to go FW with like D44 and FF 14bolt or something or i have those 60s sitting in the garage i can use but would take more work to put them under the truck since the diff is to close to the knuckle..
If i went FW i would either 3 link the front, or run the arms that i have now and coils and would coil the rear or link in some way..either way no leaf springs..
Id lift it a bit more to clear either 38s or 40s on 18s or 20s..
OR
I want to do the same set up that i have in the front and put it in the rear..coils and arms..just to get rid of the springs and run like 37s on 18s..
im just in the air with it..
so either bigger axles -- 40s -- coilovers and links or same axles, coils all around, 37s on 18s..

I still have the 46s and D60s but dont want to go that big anymore seeing how a SAS drives now dont feel like messing with it..the 46s are sitting on an 80s F150 mud truck my buddy has..
as of now the set up that i have is D30, 4.88 gears, 5.5" coils RE long arms (its zachs old D30 set up) i could get new arms, coils, brackets, and stuff for like 2k for the rear OR spend bout 2k in axles built and coilover it..and go bigger..i just dunno what i want to do..
if i go bigger with the FW axles..id be selling the whole set ups and will be a complete SAS package, D30, 8.8 springs, coils, arms matching gears, 35s on 15x10 wheels, steering all im keeping is the steering box..
Personally i loved your truck on 37s and 20s.. I think you should go with that again.. i think you could run it with your current suspension set up too.. You don't ever wheel the thing so you'd probably be alright with your d30

i meant to put that as an option too -- just get 37s on big wheels and leave it as is..but im running into a spring problem in the rear..they are starting to settle and well its squatting its like an inch but you can tell..i can live with it but you know id like to fix it...
haha i still have my debit card from all the money i got from Parris Island gotta love E2 government pay :)

But I still voted for bigger axles.
no matter what if you change axles from what you have now you are going to spend alot of money.... so id expect to spend 3-4k to do it right with a leaf spring rear and coilover front.
plus if you run 37s at say 400 each that is 1600 plus wheels at another 250 each easy. so another 2600 minimum in wheels and tires alone.
my vote is to bring those f250 axles up to my house for 2 weeks...
buy all this
figure 500-600 in front joints and material. (brackets)
1200 in coil overs
300 for a sway bar
300+ for gears front
300+ gears for rear
500-600 to link rear
1200 coilovers rear
all rough numbers of course.
then drive it home like a brand new truck! :)
heck if you do it right im coming down that way in july/august then ill be going down again later. i could trailer it both times.
either way ive been telling you to give me some time with it and i will help ya make it what you want... i just need more than 1 day. lol
oh yeah and another 3000 and ill swap in my supercharged engine, beefed up transmission, etc all tuned and ready to go.

yes it will hold up fine, its the weight that would bother it. rangers dont weigh that much.
