How I type on the forums, AIM, text, etc, are way different from the way I write in school and work. Although from time to time I have written on a work order "prolly needs a rotation" or "uneven wear prolly a result of under inflation"

Whats cool is in Word 2007 I have the auto-corrections set up to change 'prolly' to 'probably' and gonna to 'going to'. Theres a few more I have in there but I cant remember all of them.


Ironically, that's probably the clearest thing you've said on this forum...

It's actually funny. I use proper spelling and grammar (except when drunk), but prolly and gonna are the two non words I use all the time, and I'm prolly not gonna change. I almost agree with Alon, but there's just a limit to how **** you have to be about it. As long as your text is clear, punctuated and easily read, then why ***** about the occasional abbreviation? At one point in time, isn't, don't, ain't, can't, won't and all the others weren't real words either. But over time, as the English language evolved, they became accepted.

BTW, firefox spell checker doesn't catch gonna.

 

Prolly prolly isnt a word but I'm prolly gonna keep using it because it's the internets. Most people who use prolly prolly dont say prolly in real life but for some reason most people prolly get a little dumber when they use the computer. So you prolly shouldnt get so **** about it and just relax. Your blood pressure will prolly go down a bit...

I just did a search for the words proly and prolly. There are a shockingly high number of occurances.
