Gas prices

Be ready - here in Houston, it was $2.54 for 87 octane Monday morning, it jumped to $2.79 that afternoon. Almost all the stations have matched that as of yesterday.
The same station that jumped first on Monday is now $3.51 for 87, and $3.99 for 93.....I would expect $4 a gallon for 87 octane by next weekend.

Besides, you'll never get 70 MPG out of them anyhow. You MIGHT get in the 60 MPG range w/ the Honda Insight, which is the smallest of the lot, and strictly a two seater. The Civic and Prius both see mileage in the 40's, depending on driving habits and terrain. My GF's lifetime average (across 2 years and 45k miles) was about 45-46 MPG.

Especially w/ the Honda system (electric assist to a gasoline engine) the hybrid tech only seems to yeild a ~30% improvment.
Although 30% is a helluva lot better than 0%!

Yeah i would love 40-46 MPG.
Im considering buying a $hitty old honda or some poo bucket to get me around town w/awesome gas mileage.
Im not gonna be buying anything new but when i get my new truck here in the next 6 months i will def. have a beater for my daily driver. Who knows, if gas prices get high enough i wont be driving anything anywhere......

PS - if gas prices get high enough i might give leo a run for his money with post count!
