German cars

Now you all know (deep down) that we in the US of A make crapy cars... I mean Ford and Chevy are good when you are 5 years old or something. And those Japanese and Chinese cars are absolute S*** ... But everyone knows that...
The only good cars come from Germany. I mean look at them: BMW, Mercedes, and even VW. They are engineered down to the smallest detail and I love them...
Gotta go anyway, got to go and cuddle with my teddy bear... Heil all

My friend bought a VW jetta in may.

It was a 99.5 mark IV body style.

He has put in a new trans, new suspennsion, new temp sensor housing(x2 it just blew out), and recently needs a new coil pack. It still needs a new fan controller, and leaks quart of oil every hundredish miles.

He did buy it used at 160k.

I believe the previous owner beat the car to death. Then sold it.

was kinda thinking the same thing, bmw's are overrated i think, i had a 95 BMW 325 and german spec yea it was fast but the bmws have a head problem they warp or something thats why i got rid of it not worth fixing, other than that the mercedes is way over priced and wouldnt waste my money on a vw

BMWs had the worst service issues of any luxury cars my family has owned.

Jaguars have been the Best.

i believe it was consumer reports that did a study that showed that American cars have now surpassed European vehicles in terms of reliability and expected longitivity.

lets not even talk depreciation....

Yeah, he's all about "German Pride" but he still drives a Crown Vic. Which I don't get. I was just checking this site and didn't exit the window when I was done and came back to some confused people posting telling me to go back to Germany. Born and raised in the south.

on this point you are correct...or were correct... personally i believe that the mercedes W123 body is the finest automobile made by ANY automaker american or otherwise... these cars were designed between 1967 and 1976 and produced between 1977 and 1985 and still look classy and refined today... not to mention that these cars are impossible to kill... the diesel models will run for over 500,000 miles on one engine... granted i got over 350,000 miles on my 92 ranger but it was on its second engine and third tranny... maybe im a little biased about the W123 as i own one... now that being said when i but a new car it will be made by one of the big 3 since the new mercedes-benz models are not reliabile like the old ones... i want to see a 1977 ford fairlane (if they made them this year) that looks as good as this

Sure BMW's are nice until the rear sub frame separates from the rest of the car.
