Icon7 getting my hopes up.....

Talking to a chick in my history class about her mustang.
she told me about how her dad did a 408 swap a few years ago...and i asked her what she did with the old engine

she told me it was still sitting in her shed....an original 1968- 289 V8 !!!!!!!

it has a little over 100k on it...

her parents are planning on selling it and i asked her to see if they could hold it until spring

i'm gonna scrimp and save all winter for that baby and see if i can't get it in my little Ranger within the next year...

i'll need a tranny still but i don't even have the engine yet.....just daydreaming so far

Do the Pros out-weigh the Cons? A 408W Mustang is a hell of a car . . .

BTW - If you do a 289, a classic 4-spd is a must.

Do it, and take your time on it. Rebuild the motor because it probably has some hard miles on it, and it should last a good wile.

yea, most of the gear head chicks aren't worth looking at.. and the ones you do run across are something to try and hang on to.

I'm still waiting for that one with the 4x4 that loves wheelin to drop in

anywho, keep us posted on this, idk if i've seen a 289 swap in a ranger yet.
