Recently we got a 2001 Ranger 4.0 4x4 EDGE in at our junkyard and it has gibson single exhaust catback. The truck is totalled but the exhaust looks fine. My question is when I went on Gibson's website it lists different catback for specifically for an EDGE. My truck is just a normal ranger 4x4 and was wondering what the differences are???????

 

I dont think there is a difference man. When I had my 04 3.0 Edge, the gibson I had said it would fit 2.3, 3.0 and 4.0L rangers 2 or 4wd.

if you go on www.gibsonexhaust.com they list it differently for EDGE

there is no difference.......a Ranger frame is the same.....there is not a different frame for an EDGE........i will guarantee you it will bolt up and work on your Ranger or I will buy it from you....

 

ford wouldnt go through the hassel of making different frames and all the other crap..and edge is a ranger a ranger can be anymodel..if they made a different exaust for everymodel would be kind of stupid

 

an EDGE is a 4x4 Ranger.....no difference.....the only difference is the 2wd EDGE's have the 4x4 suspension without the front diff...

 

ok I probably asssumed it was the same. Anyone know why Gibson lists a different exhaust for the EDGE?

 

they want to be able to charge you more money....

01-06 4.0L-EDGE Extended Cab, Short Bed 2/4WD Aluminized 19713
98-06 2.5L-3.0L-4.0L Extended Cab, Short Bed 2/4WD Aluminized 19713

same part number but they have a seprate listing for some reason

 

yup.....part #'s are the exact same....
