Gotta Share My 'man, that sucks' thing that happened today...

So, I had my dash out to replace the bulbs in the cluster. Had my radio out of the truck and in the house. So, today I put the the dash back int and get to the point where it's time to put the radio back in. I walk out of the house, down the steps onto the concrete patio and drop my 97 stock ranger radio. Busted the face completely off and broke a good size piece of the circuit board. No fix'n it. I'm hoping to find another stock type radio if possible. If not I guess I'll have to find an aftermarket. Man, that sucked. Still PO'ed at myself...

Bummer

There are a few on Ebay

And post here in Parts Wanted, probably a few members that pulled stock radio out to put in 3rd party and would love to sell the old one

Wiring diagrams here if needed for 3rd party: Ford Ranger Radio Wiring Diagram

I got a radio from walmart last night that says it comes with mounting hardware, but then when you open it up it says most radios will require additional mounting hardware
So, I will probably just take it back and not mess with it.
I'd like another stock radio, but having some newer features like USB would be nice.
Not real concerned with blue-tooth, phone, and all that jazz though.
See what happens - I'm still pretty upset about dropping my stock radio...

You have to buy the radio, then you buy the wiring harness that goes for your truck. They are sold right by the radio's. They couldn't include every possible vehicle's wiring harness with the radio or it would cost a fortune.

The wiring harness I have. But, the box/package the radio came in is missing a sleeve shown in step one that is supposed to be included. So, back it goes to wally world...
