Help

Does anyone in the ranger world know why my 2001 2.3 liter 4 cylinder Ford stalls when I press the accelerator on a cold engine.

Welcome to the forum

On a fuel injected engine the "gas pedal" is actually an "air pedal"
On a Carbed engine extra fuel would squirt in when you pressed down on the "gas" pedal, it was done by the accelerator pump
On fuel injection the computer adds extra fuel but by calculating increased air flow when throttle is pressed

So best guess is you have a vacuum leak, could be TPS(throttle position sensor) but you should also notice that when warm

When an engine is cold it needs to be Choked, which means it needs to run Rich, if there is too much air(lean) it will stall

Does it run and drive normally when it's warmed up and is it an automatic or standard ?
