help getting rivits out

help getting rivits out

So as many of you know the rear leaf spring hangers are riveted to the frame.

My air chisel is not wanting to work..idk why Do any of you have any tip on how i can get those darn rivets out.

dont drill them. use a angle grinder to grind the heads off then use a punch to pop them out. let me dig thru my drop pics and ill show ya

im not sure ill be able to find a grinder. How strong of a drill will i need to drill through them

it depends on the bit ive always just used a bit a little bigger than the head of the rivit just dont go to deep just enough until u can knock it off without digging into the bracket

i would suggest taking the bed off too. i did two of the rivets before i took my bed off and i seriously ground into my hanger. wich was bad. i need to pull that dam thing and plate it

no i couldn't drill them out and it is getting dark outside. I think im just going to rent a grinder or take it to a shop and see if they can grind them out for a few bucks

dude go to harbor frieght, angle grinders are like 25 bucks

The hangers are like $24 from the dealer and the shackles are like $23 just get new one's

3/8th by 1 inch grade 8 bolts to be specific.
you need 8 washers and 8 nylock nuts too, pepboys has them
