Help with keys

this is going to sound strange, but I would like to know if the 97 ranger has two keys, one for the ign iton and another for the doors. I have never used my key in the door of my truck and today I found out that they do not work. Maybe my key cylender has been changed by last owner. Just do not know
Thanks Steve

Oh wow... I completely forgot that older cars had two different keys. I remember my parent's cars having two.

Wow.

Old GMs were like that too. Their set up was different. Square key was to start the block. Round key unlocked the door. At least that's how I remembered it to get in and start my buick
