you need to look for miles obviously, dents cuts in paint, mods, if thier correctly installed, 4x4, limited slip, transmission smooth, ac works, pay attention to little things like if the gages work right if the carpet isnt ripped and if your tires are new. there are things you can say hey! fix that then ill buy it. also MAKE SURE YOU GET 2 KEYS!!!! if they have a chip in them its a pain to make an extra. make sure the extra has a chip not jsut a copy, test it in the ignition. pay attention to the center consol and test EVERYTHING

Check the radiator support for any kinks or wrinkles. That's an obvious indicator of front end damage.
Look under where the truck is parked for any evidence of leaked fluids.
Test drive with the radio OFF so you can listen for any possible problems.
Check Nada and kbb.com for approximate market values of used vehicles.
But I hope you're not trading in the '04!
