I got my light bar and light tabs from underdog performance today, and the mounting holes behind the bumper are no where to be found. I even went as far as taking my grill and front skid plate off to get a little more access to everything. So my question for you guys is, are there any alternate mounting places i can use or shoud i wait until this weekend and pull the bumper off and drill holes like they said they were supossed to be in the first place? Also how hard is it to pull the bumper off? Give me some ideas im ready for this thing to go on.

 

I have the same tabs and the same problem on my 07. It looks like bumper styles have changed. However it does appear to me that the metal behind the grill could be drilled without removing anything and the tab mounted on a vertical plane rather than on a horizontal plane as was shown on their web site (hole pointed upward). There are two bolts lower in the air dam that could be used for mounting fog lights.

 

Ya i might just do it that way, but i was underneith my truck all night last night trying to figure it out and beind the grill directly above the outside of the towhooks it seems like there is a spot on both sides where i beleive Ford left the holes out on the newer trucks. Im pretty sure its the spot and ill have to take the bumer off to drill it. We'll see when sunday rolls around. If you get it done before then let me know how you did it.

Looks like I need to go to the dealer to confirm that the hole is not there. There are other mounts you can use but the width will be different. On pre-1998 we use the bumper mount:


I have no problem swapping them out if needed. PM me and we'll work it out. In the mean time I'm gonna change the description.

 

There's definately no holes on the 2007's I looked at today. I've PM'd both of you so we can get it resolved.
