Hood flew up today

So my truck came with a fiberglass aftermarket hood and it flew up today. Partially my fault for not checking to see if it was latched all the way. Well it ruined the hood, no loss there cuz it was kinda ugly and it bent the hinges and cowl. The cowl and hinges are spot welded on theses trucks which makes things very difficult to fix. My question is, when you drill the old ones out it looks like you can bolt new ones in? I see dimples and bolt holes. I am going to fix the cowl cuz it isn't that bad. This sucks!!!!

Anyone have a nice 1997 hood they want to sell? Zip 44035 Ohio

Any 93-97 hood will work (just looked up the interchange).

Went to the yard yesterday and scored a hood from a 1996 and got some nice seats out of a 96 Explorer, something I had been looking for for a while. Got the wiper arms off the Explorer since mine got bent. Now I just need to go there with a generator, a drill and some sharp drill bits and drill out some hinges. Why did Ford spot weld in the hinges on a Ranger but bolted them in on the Explorer.

Get a step drill bit, You'd be surprised how handy those things are.
Also, a generator? go cordless man, I've got some tiny 12v dewalt impact and drill and those things can do some damage.
They spot welded all the old style trucks like that i believe, if you look at the old style 'Sploder i believe they're welded.

Good call on the step drill bit. I will have to grab one. I have seen them in action. I don't have a cordless drill and my buddy has a generator but might be able to borrow a cordless drill.

What a nightmare. Seeing that hook in there is not a good sight.
