Well to make a long story short i lost one of my truck keys and started calling around and 1 guy says he can make a new key and change the chip code for 50 for key and 20 to change the chip code, so the dumbass who got my key cant come drive it away. So then I figure i should call around to see if I can get a better price and the next dude tells me it will be 50 for the key and probably about 2000 for the code to be changed. Good god where do these ppl come from.So Im like ok never mind. rant over

 

$2000 to have the PATS system reprogrammed? Bull-****.

i think BBBB51 meant $200 NOT $2000. i don't think he realizes that it IS expensive to replace those damed PATS keys.

A reputable locksmith can reprogram the truck for around $200. If someone told you only $20 to reprogram they are mistaken, they are probably thinking of programming additional keys not a reprogram. Definitely get key blanks on ebay, thats what I did. 2 keys for $20 when my buddy who could get them at cost was saying about $35 a key!
