I ordered JBA headers from a online site with a location in the US back in early July and still have not received them. I am upset for two reasons and not because i have to wait:
1. Upset at myself for not taking the time to read through all the legal terms and conditions at the checkout on this site. Buried in a spot on the checkout page is a small window with terms and conditions that state they do not stock any parts and no refunds on special order parts (which means everything since they don't carry any inventory).
2. Upset at the vendor who i purchased these from. The company kept telling me to check back in a week but didn't tell me directly until the 3rd email that there was a steel shortage affecting these headers and the manufacture was not giving them a real date of shipping. If they only told me up front, I wouldn't be wondering if i got scammed or something. Plus, unlike other vendors on the web, they do NOT state they carry the part in stock until you get to the checkout page and which there is a small window stating this. Its almost like they would rather hide this important information in a small terms and conditions box which very few people take the time to read these days including me.
Yes i was wrong for not being careful and assuming. But this company was wrong in a sense by being misleading. Most companies tell you upfront on the product page that the item is out of stock and ETA is blah blah blah...
If you used a credit card to make that purchase, they may be able to help. Just call the credit card company.
there are LOTS of shortages right now. I can’t get some bicycle parts. Chips, resins and China freight are completely bottlenecks costing big companies billions.
id also go public in that site. Share the name. We all want help avoiding mistakes.
Reconsider if they helped you choose and design that part.
