Mine's an 03 as well (bought in 11/02). Its just about a 50 mile round trip for work, plus non-work driving around.

First my check engine light came on but it was a loose wire on the intake clip... the tech was nice and only charged me $25 which would've been $75 for the labor and just checking it. A month ago, my truck wasn't charging so i had to get an alternator...$200 i did that myself. 2 weeks later (now) my truck is spitting gas out of the gas tank when i fill up so i have to fill him up REALLY slow (30m mins to get a full tank). I'm taking it tomorrow to Ford while i'm home so they can look at it.

In other words, not to rain on your happiness, but be prepared to be at ford to have something looked at. While my warranty was still in effect, i never had problems except for the pulleys and idle sensor..........they all had to be replaced this January!
well i got my truck back and the verdict is that the exhaust on the drivers side basically burned my the hose that vents the gas in half! the whole hose should be replaced which is $700!, but the guy at the dealership patched and moved the hose for me for $160...eventually, i will have to get a new hose. i will be callin the people that put my exhaust in so they can compensate me very well for this.

Lesson: make sure the exhaust isn't near vital hoses...ie the gas hose on the drivers side fr you guys with duals
